One day I called Lara from work.

“Hey La.”

“What’s up?”

“I’m quitting. This is it.”

“It’s about time.”

“Let’s do the photography thing. Let’s do what we love, and let’s do it together.”

“Woo-Hoo!”

That’s how it started for us. Well, that’s how I started working for Lara. Lara had been doing photography professionally forever, kind of as a side thing, making it work in between being the best mom and community volunteer on the planet. One morning I called and put photography on the front burner, and the rest is history. These are stories about running a photography studio as an actual business. Here’s where doing great photography and making great pictures pays the rent and puts food on the table. These are the stories about doing what you love and not ever again working a day in your life.

Do What You Love, Love What You Do.

We want clients to come in and be totally comfortable in the space and not give it a second…

    We’ve Got A Studio

You guys – I am so excited! I just finished setting up my very first real studio! I’ve been casually looking for space to rent in the area, but ultimately decided on using our garage. It’s amazing, and fabulous – everything I could have asked for – and I know it will only get better…

    Imaging USA 2017

If you follow along with my Facebook or Instagram, you may have noticed that I was in San Antonio last week at Imaging USA. This is the annual photographic convention hosted by Professional Photographers of America (PPA) – the largest and oldest professional association for photographers in the United States. I had a great time…

  • Happy New Year – Hitting The Ground Running

Lara is back from her winter Wisconsin trip to Manitowish Waters, rocking her PPA Business Challenge t-shirt and cranking away on studio work before heading out this Saturday to Imaging USA in San Antonio, TX. And of course, in the interest of fairness:     Here’s an early-morning photo of me working on a blog…
