Family Portrait At Chicago Botanic Garden
A family of five including a mom and dad and three kids, posed around a post at the top stair inside of a large brick gazebo style structure with hanging plants and greenery at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL. The family is wearing color coordinated outfits featuring purple highlights over dark and navy blue base colors.
This family had just relocated from Seattle, Washington to the Chicago area, and wanted a memorable family portrait to commemorate their move.
The Chicago Botanic Garden is a “living plant museum” situated across nine islands across 385 acres of land located in the far Northern Chicago suburb of Glencoe, IL. It’s a fantastic place for photography of all sorts, including, of course, family portraits. The garden features 27 display gardens across four natural habitats. There’s lots of really amazing picturesque architecture, including the Education Center by architect Edward Larabee Barnes; The Japanese Garden by Koichi Kawana; The Heritage Garden by Geoffrey Rausch; The Esplande by Dan Kiley; and The Conservation Science Center by Booth Hansen.
It’s the perfect sort of place to bring a family for photos. Kids love to run through and play in the gardens, and the architecture and landscaping make for a fun, stimulating environment with nearly infinite variety of places to capture special moments.
