The Days Go Slow but the Years Go Fast

Twin girls shown as toddlers and as high school seniors

I’ve known Sadie and Sophie for a long time. The first time I photographed them, they were sweet toddlers dressed in pink and white. At the time, they lived in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle.

This summer, we took a trip back to Magnolia to mark their senior year, with each girl bringing out their unique personality and stories through their locations and wardrobe. For Sadie, she chose to wear a beautiful white dress out in nature—the stunning Magnolia bluff overlooking the sound. She paired it with a more casual look in the same location to reflect her easy-going attitude.

Sophie chose to include more of the city in her session, and bring out the bright and wonderful colors around the neighborhood, contrasted with her own take on a bright summer dress to accent the world around her.

I love capturing the journey each child goes on as they mature from such a small age to the budding young adults they’ve become. This time of the year always reminds me how fast time can fly by. It feels like just yesterday my children were just learning to walk, and now this week I’m taking my youngest to move into their dorm at college. I blinked and suddenly they’re off creating their own way in the world.

It’s important to take the time to capture their growth and development along the way. I’d be honored to do that for you and your child. Contact me and let’s discuss those important times, which we call the Seasons of Life, in your child’s development that are so previous and deserve to be captured in stunning portraits.
