Here’s the entire back-of-the-napkin nutshell plan, vastly oversimplified to protect the sanity of those involved:
• One gray wall, all the rest white
• A white ceiling
• A really nice floor
• Some nice lights.
We want clients to come in and be totally comfortable in the space and not give it a second thought other than, “Wow, this is really nice.”
After a million trips to both Goodwill and the dump, we got started. Here’s an annotated gallery of the progress we’ve made to date.
This is the “before” view from the entry door.
Here’s the view from the back corner. To the left is the big wall that we’ll paint gray. We’re planning on cutting a hole in the side of the house to the right and installing french doors for natural light.

We removed the poorly-hung drywall from this wall, only to discover that the studs were all warped and not plumb. This became known as “The Hard Wall.”

Originally the garage tracks were attached directly to the big wall. We modified them and attached them to the ceiling.

We finally settled on a brand for the floor, went with Karndean. It’s super heavy duty, durable, and often used in commercial spaces.
