Portrait Of A White Terrier Mix Rescue Dog

Over the years, we’ve done a lot of work with local area pet rescue groups photographing rescue dogs that have had a difficult time being placed in good, loving homes. Hey, let’s be honest, doing a session like this for a rescue is a lot like doing a session for people clients who are looking to up their game on their online dating profiles. And the goal is the same, finding a good “forever home.”

This sweetheart pooch rocking a pink sweater radiates mellow in front of a white backdrop with added Christmas light sparkle magic. She’s for sure a mix, perhaps a small west highland white terrier seasoned with whatever it took to get her ears to flop down in sweet melancholy relaxation.

During her session, she never barked, never growled, and was completely cooperative. She didn’t require a treat to stay still or look at the camera. It’s almost as if she knew the stakes.

The bittersweet thing for us, looking at a photo like this is we don’t remember this dog’s name, or recall if she even had a name before she got to the shelter. We don’t know her backstory. We don’t know where she is now, or if she ever found her wonderful dream forever home. We can only hope for the best. But at the very least, this pooch got to share one glamorous moment with us and the rest of the world.
