Headshot photography is really fun. I know you probably think it’s awful but it’s not. You fill out our form and we talk on the phone. Then we set up a time to meet and then get together and discuss what you’re looking for. You pick out a few outfits. Maybe we hire a makeup artist for the session. Not so bad so far, right? We meet for our session. Everyone relaxes and we start taking photos. At first, the lights maybe aren’t perfect, and maybe you’re a little nervous, but that’s totally ok. I’ll ask Art to tell a joke and either he won’t remember one or he’ll tell a joke that’s so unfunny you’ll have to laugh. Now you’re getting into it, and before you know it, the session is over.

The best part is when we meet up again and I show you your photos and you’re like, holy cow, these are amazing. Then you show them to your friends. Then you post them to LinkedIn or add them to your press kit. Next thing you know, the payoff. The phone starts ringing…

A typical environmental portrait simply will illuminate a subject’s life and surroundings. A studio portrait is a portrait which will focus less on surroundings and more on the individual by using sterile backdrops and props so…

Since then, my “headshot” has typically been a selfie, usually funny, probably poorly photoshopped. How bad? What can I say? What can…
